Borrow Caroline!


Did you know that you can borrow Caroline, the American Doll from our library for a one week period? Caroline comes with dresses, coats, shoes, and many other accessories and she can visit your house for a whole week!  Stop by and check her out today!  We also have her Caroline books on our shelves that you can borrow with her!  

Storytime with Mrs. Liz – Thursday mornings at 10:00

Storytime will be held on Thursdays for 10 weeks in the autumn, 15 weeks in the winter/spring and 6 weeks each summer.  You can call the library for exact dates depending on the time of year we are in.  For children aged 3 and above, this fun time includes songs, books, crafts, and a snack! The program is held in the Children’s Area on the second floor of the library.

Baby and Me Lapsit with Miss Angela – Wednesday mornings at 10:00

Introduce your baby (newborns through 2 years old) to the wonderful world of books at the library during this weekly Wednesday morning program. This time with your little one starts with a twenty minute session of songs, rhymes, books, and finger plays followed by playtime when young ones can learn essential skills of sharing and playing well with others. The program is held in the Children’s Area on the second floor of the library. The session will run for 10 weeks each autumn, 15 weeks each winter/spring and 6 weeks in the summer.  Please call the library for exact dates of the sessions.


The Dolly Parton Imagination Library -

                                     For Those Living in Zip Code 13032

Through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, preschool children and their families in the Canastota area may receive the gift of a specially selected book each month. There is no cost for this program. The only requirement is that the children be between the ages of birth and five years old and reside in the 13032 area code. Interested parents and children should stop by the Canastota Public Library and fill out a registration form. Dolly Parton began this program in her county in 1996. Since that time nearly 17,000 communities in the United States and Canada are involved in Dolly-sponsored library/literacy programs.
